Today, the press conference of Baroness Caroline Cox, a member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom, was held at the “Tatoyan” Foundation Center for Law and Justice. John Eibner, the International President of the Christian Solidarity International (CSI), also participated in the press conference.
Lady Cox referred to the Armenophobic policy of Azerbaijani towards Artsakh and the blockade. He also mentioned that a few days ago, during his visit to Tegh community of Syunik province, she personally witnessed the blockade of Artsakh by an unlawful Azerbaijani checkpoint.
She expressed concern that the international community does not apply measures of accountability against Azerbaijan.
Ms. Caroline Cox emphasized that until now states have not adequately responded to the situation around Artsakh.
According to her, in exchange for the peace agreement and economic interests, the people of Artsakh are expected to give up their right to self-determination.
Thus, more than 120,000 ethnic Armenians will have to become citizens of an Armenophobic authoritarian state, being forced to give up their freedom and the right to live freely in their own land.
The baroness also mentioned that what is being done to Artsakh is very likely to be done to Armenia in the future.
At the end of the meeting, Baroness Cox said that she will continue the struggle to inform the international community about Azerbaijani atrocities and war crimes.
The other speaker of the press conference, the international president of the International Christian Solidarity (CSI), Dr. John Eibner, in his turn said that ethnic cleansing in Artsakh is in progress after thirty years.
